The cigarettes do have tiny rings going around the paper, and eight rings is pretty high up there. But I told him of the 1943 (or was it 1942?) penny, the new quarter with the upside down tree, the 'Forward me for free stuff' e-mails. Unfortunately, that didn't debunk the story for him.
